Ontheside is your destination to share all your authentic, sports-related content in one intentional home. It’s where your story, skills, personality, and community come together and where brands and fans can get a complete picture of what makes you YOU. Below are the key elements for a successful start and a picture of how each piece works together.
Your Profile
Your Profile brings everything together. It includes your Story, Gallery, Achievements, a content feed of all your posts, and Tracks. This is where new and existing users learn more about who you are. They can get a better understanding of your journey, where you’re headed, what you’re sharing, and how they can support you. Your Profile can also be a one-stop, sports-focused portfolio for brands who may want to sponsor your content. As you post content on Ontheside, the content feed on your Profile will showcase it all in one view.
Content
Your content is the star of the show. Ontheside, it’s not about trends, algorithms, or perfectly produced posts. It’s about being real and sharing your perspective as if you’re talking with a friend, teammate, or athlete following in your footsteps. If you’re newer to creating content, the best thing to do is simply start.
We have some approachable ways to fit content capture into your routines so you can post consistently, and build confidence and momentum.
→ Habits and Tools for Content Creation
Ontheside currently supports six types of content. Each can be shared in any of the following ways depending on how you want to engage your audience and earn:
- As free stand-alone public posts or within Public Tracks
- Included in an exclusive Paid Track that all-access pass-holders can view
- Published within a Private Track with access granted and controlled by you as the athlete-creator
Spotlight: Images or short video clips. A single Spotlight post can include up to 20 media assets (1GB per uploaded image/video). Use Spotlights to:
- Announce longer-form content posts.
- Promote paid content.
- Give quick glimpses into your day-to-day training and personality.
Episode: A single video or audio file (up to 1GB). Episodes can range from short, action-oriented videos to in-depth conversations, behind-the-scenes stories, or podcasts. Available on demand, these videos or podcasts can be stand-alone posts or part of a series, and are usually over 2 minutes long each.
Guide: A step-by-step content format. Guides use flexible drag-and-drop two-column blocks that pair written instructions with images or video. Athlete-creators can use Guides to break down concepts, routines, or processes in an easy-to-follow format.
SplitSync: A dual-video content format that synchronizes side-by-side videos for direct comparison or provides dual-view perspectives of the action. SplitSync requires exactly two videos, each up to 1GB in size.
Event: A simple way to share and promote in-person or online experiences. Events include date and location details with Google Maps integration, one-click calendar add, and space for links to ticket or registration resources. Attach images or video to help audiences see what’s coming.
Article: A long-form “written” content type for sharing ideas, stories, and perspectives in depth. Articles feature an automated magazine-style layout that blends written paragraphs with images, videos, callout quotes, and links for an immersive narrative.
